Bertha (Foss) Anderson
Britha (Bertha), born 14 Aug 1863 in Hardanger, Norway, came to America and the Decorah area with her parents John Haaversen and Siri Arnesdtr. Foss (see separate story). Bertha married Andrew Anderson. They farmed near Holmes, IA and then moved to Eagle Grove where Andrew worked for the railroad at the round house. Bertha and Andrew are buried in Rosehill Cemetery, Eagle
Grove, IA. They had 4 children: Stella, Alma, Mae and Arthur.
Alma Ruth (20 Sep 1897-Jun 1967) attended the Eagle Grove schools. She attended State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA. Alma taught in a country school just outside of Eagle Grove. She never married. She is buried with her parents in Rosehill Cemetery.

Arthur (13 Apr 1905-31 May 1991) worked for the Iowa Public Service as an electrician for 48 years. He married Myrtle Orsland (b. 9 Jan 1908). Myrtle did clerical work for a plumbing company. In later years she worked for the Friendship Haven Retirement Center in Ft. Dodge, IA. They have one child, Bernadine. Bernadine
Arthur is buried in the Rosehill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, IA.
